How We Test: Playability Verified

A link that loads is not a game that works

Most game directories check whether a page opens. We check whether you can actually play. A game earns the Playability Verified badge only after an ABG editor completes the checklist below, and the badge always shows the date of the last test.

The checklist

Games that have not completed this checklist show Playtest pending. We still list them when they are notable, using public information, and say so.

Re-testing

Verified games are re-checked periodically and whenever someone reports a problem. If a game stops working, its badge is removed until it passes again.

Port Tracker statuses

We do not play or link builds that bundle copyrighted assets, so port statuses come from public reporting and developer statements. Each status lists its basis and sources. See the editorial policy.

Our own games are tested on desktop Chrome, Safari and Firefox, ChromeOS, Android Chrome and iOS Safari before release and after every update.
