WASM Arcade: Browser Games, Controls and Save Tips

Find browser games to play now, understand what WASM Arcade means, and check controls, browser support and saves before starting a longer session.

Looking for a WASM arcade usually means looking for a familiar game that runs in a browser tab. For something you can start on this site now, choose Alien Escape Pinball, 8Compute, or one of our original browser games. Their pages tell you who hosts the game and how to play.

“WASM Arcade” is also used by several independent websites. They are not one shared service. On October 17, 2026 we checked wasmarcade.com's description and wasmarcade.games' description: one presents a compiled-engine library, while the other describes a player for files you bring. A similar name does not tell you whether a page supplies a game, expects a local file, or sends you elsewhere.

Start with the kind of session you want

For a short arcade break, try Alien Escape Pinball. Launch a ball and work the flippers to keep it in play. The on-page player loads the creator's itch.io build, with a creator-page fallback alongside it. This is an independent pinball game, not a commercial-console remake.

For a slower game about upgrades, try 8Compute. You start small, run models and build up production. Give its dashboard room on a desktop screen. It is listed separately from live AI-powered games because its creator describes AI-assisted development, not a generative model running each move.

For a score challenge made for ABG, try Horde Hour, Kickflip Rush, Getaway Grid or Arena Zero. These games run here and have their own controls and Daily Runs. The collection includes different browser technologies; we are not labeling every game in it a WebAssembly build.

What does WASM actually change?

WebAssembly is a compiled-code format supported by browsers. A game may use it for an engine, an emulator or another performance-sensitive component. The label alone does not establish graphics quality, mobile compatibility, multiplayer support or permission to distribute the assets.

This is why a useful arcade page needs more than a long list of familiar titles. The player needs to know where the software runs, what data it needs and what inputs the game expects. Controls: keyboard, touch and controllers

Check the controls before pressing Play, especially if you are on a phone. A visible canvas is not evidence that a game has touch controls. Likewise, owning a controller does not guarantee a particular game will recognize it.

For a keyboard game, click inside its frame before moving. Browser shortcuts can compete with game keys, and Escape may release captured input or leave fullscreen. If an embedded game feels cramped, use its fullscreen control or the creator-page link rather than zooming the entire site until the surrounding interface becomes unreadable.

For touchscreen play, look for a documented touch layout and try a short round first. Our directory separates listed devices from completed playtest evidence so those two signals do not get confused.

Why a game might not load

Start by checking whether the game expects files from you. Waiting longer will not satisfy a missing-input screen. If it reports a missing browser capability, record that message before trying a different supported browser.

Embedded games add another layer. A provider can change its build, block framing, or become unavailable. ABG's reviewed embeds start only after you press Play; the player includes reload, close and creator-page options. Closing a game removes its frame, so you can stop its audio and processing without leaving the article or directory.

We do not proxy a blocked frame to strip its restrictions. A page that cannot be framed belongs behind an external link, not inside a player that never finishes loading.

Save before switching devices or hosts

Browser storage is scoped to an origin. Playing a game on a standalone site and playing an itch.io build can therefore produce separate progress. Private browsing, storage limits and privacy settings can also affect persistence.

Before a long session, check whether the game offers an export or backup function. Test restoring a small save before relying on it. A screenshot of your score is useful for sharing, but it is not a save file.

Find more games

Use the Plays here filter for on-site sessions or the full directory for external games and AI game makers. Looking for a particular unofficial commercial-game port? The Port Tracker keeps that separate from this playable collection.
